Tony Vesay, Colonel, USA (Ret.), Vice President, Hill International, led the Federal engineering response in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina while serving as district engineer of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Vicksburg District.  He will discuss his experiences during the Katrina recovery and will also speak of the lessons learned.

The Philadelphia Post of SAME is pleased to host ASCE, CMAA, The Engineers Club, and PMI for a multi-society meeting to be held on December 12th at The Down Town Club.

This event promises to be a great opportunity for networking and the historic venue is quite impressive. In keeping with the holiday spirit the Marine Corps will be standing by to receive “Toys for Tots” donations.

Narrated Boat Tour of the Schuylkill River

The SAME Philadelphia Post Young Members have organized a narrated boat tour of the Schuylkill River on Wednesday August 15, 2007 at 6:00 pm.  The 1.5-hour boat tour will highlight the history and interesting facts of Philadelphia’s “Hidden River” and will be narrated by the president of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation.  The boat tour will begin and end at the Walnut Street Dock on the Schuylkill Banks (east side of Schuylkill River at Walnut Street).  The attached map from the Schuylkill Banks website (http://www.schuylkillbanks.org/home.aspx) illustrates the location of the boat dock and pedestrian access ramps.
